THRIVE LIVES

Building bricks, fist bumps, and Traction by Fraction

Ongoing, healthy, supportive community: for anyone anywhere, this is the incubator where the most sustainable life development gains can be made. Our Thrive Lives program is designed to be just such a growth incubator, providing sound life-skills practices in a safe and interactive environment for those exiting homelessness.

Weekly Thrive Lives meetings are places of great food, laughter, training and celebrations of the recent progress of each individual. Those meetings have become a joyful weekly staple at the City of West Sacramento’s Project Homekey and elsewhere, and one-on-one mentoring is also offered. Steady, patient, sustainable movement toward personal goals - “traction by fraction” - is at the heart of a program that seeks to be relatable, attainable, and endlessly hopeful.

Thrive Lives

SIX BRICKS TO BUILD WITH

  1. I get to define me. I won’t surrender that right to anyone else.

  2. My yesterday is locked now. I can’t re-enter it and live it again. But my today is still an open question, and I can make whatever I want of it.

  3. I don’t recognize failure. I only recognize things I haven’t mastered yet.

  4. I’m going to take some ground today, even if it’s just a few inches. Day by day, “traction by fraction,” is how I get where I’m going.

  5. I miss 100% of the shots I never take. So today, I won’t be afraid to try.

  6. I carry healing in my kindness - for others, and for myself. Whatever may come, this power is always, always available to me.
